- Ortan 50 EC is a non-systemic acaricide containing fenpyroximate 5% (w/v) as an emulsifiable concentrate. It acts by contact and ingestion as a mitochondrial electron transport inhibitor (METI – IRAC Group 21A), stopping energy production in mite cells and causing rapid paralysis and death. It acts fast, reducing mite feeding shortly after spraying, and is highly effective on the mobile stages (larvae, nymphs and adults). Best results come from early application with good coverage, especially on the underside of leaves, making it an effective tool in integrated pest management programs when recommendations are followed.

Directions for Use
- Tomato – pepper – eggplant – potato: red spider mite → 50 ml per 100 liters of water (0.5 ml/liter).
- Peach – apricot – plum: red spider mite → 50 ml per 100 liters of water.
- Watermelon – melon – strawberry: red spider mite → 50 ml per 100 liters of water.
- Citrus: brown mite → 50 ml per 100 liters of water.
- Apple – pear – grape – pomegranate: European brown mite → 50 ml per 100 liters of water.
- Application: foliar spray to full wetting.

Precautions

- Ortan gives the best results when used at the start of infestation, as it quickly kills the mobile stages.
