Green Oil 930 EC is a summer paraffinic mineral oil formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate containing 93% paraffin oil. It acts as a non-systemic insecticide and acaricide with direct contact action: it forms an oily film that coats the insect's body and blocks its breathing pores, suffocating and killing it – so good spray coverage is essential. It is used to control scale insects, aphids and spider mites on citrus, date palms, pome fruit, stone fruit, olives and ornamental plants at the recommended rates.
Key Features
- Physical mode of action (suffocation and coating), effective against scale insects and the mobile stages of mites and aphids.
- Non-systemic, making it a good option in integrated pest management (IPM) programmes with a low risk of resistance.
- Helps weaken eggs and wax-covered insects when full spray coverage is achieved.
- Suitable for use during the active growing season (summer oil) within 5–35 °C.
- Short pre-harvest interval (3 days) for flexible spray timing before harvest.
- Compatible with most pesticides except sulphur and captan; always run a jar test before mixing.
