  • Fusilade Max 125 EC is a selective, post-emergence systemic herbicide containing the active ingredient fluazifop-P-butyl at a concentration of 12.5%. It is used to control annual and perennial grassy weeds (broadleaf weeds) in broadleaf crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, onions, legumes, carrots, alfalfa, and fruit trees. It controls weeds such as Bermuda grass, foxtail, wild sedge, barnyard grass, wild oats, and volunteer grains. It is absorbed through the leaves and translocated within the plant to the growing tips and roots, halting growth within days. This leads to yellowing and drying of the weeds until they die completely from the roots, while preserving crop integrity when applied correctly.

Product Features

  • It eliminates annual and perennial grassy weeds such as Bermuda grass, foxtail, wild sedge, barnyard grass, and wild oats, and prevents regrowth.
  • A systemic pesticide that travels within the plant to the growing tips and roots to ensure complete and final control.
  • Selective and safe for broadleaf crops when the correct recommendations are followed.
  • Effective during the active growth stage and gives the best results in the young and middle ages of weeds.
  • A clear, gradual effect appears, starting with a halt in growth, then yellowing of the leaves, until complete drying out.
  • A spreading agent or mineral oil can be added to increase absorption efficiency, especially with large or dense weeds.

How to use

  • It is used after the emergence of weeds (direct foliar spray) with complete coverage of the foliage to ensure full absorption.
  • Annual grassy weeds (such as foxtail and yarrow): Use at a rate of 1.5–2.5 ml per liter of water at the 2–4 leaf stage to obtain maximum efficiency and prevent weed spread at the beginning of growth.
  • Perennial grassy weeds (such as Bermuda grass and barnyard grass): Use at a rate of 2.5 – 3.5 ml per liter of water to ensure the pesticide reaches the roots and rhizomes, complete eradication, and prevention of regrowth.
  • Potatoes: They are used at the same rates to eliminate grassy weeds within the planting rows, maintain field cleanliness, and increase growth efficiency.
  • Tomatoes: Used to control grass without affecting the plant and to reduce competition for nutrients.
  • Onions: They are used in the early stages to eliminate thin weeds that affect crop growth and size.
  • Legumes (beans - soybeans): Used to control associated grassy weeds and improve crop growth and yield.
  • Carrots: Used to prevent weeds that affect the regularity of growth and quality of roots.
  • Clover: It is used to combat grassy weeds that compete with the plant at the beginning of growth and affect density.
  • Fruit trees: A directed spray is used around the trees to eliminate weeds without touching the foliage.
  • Spraying water quantity: 100-200 liters of water/acre depending on the density of the weeds to ensure good coverage.

Prohibition Period (PHI)

  • Onions: 28 days
  • Potatoes: 56 days
  • Other crops: 6 to 8 weeks depending on the crop

Important notes

  • Best results when spraying during the active growth stage of the weeds.
  • The grass must be free of dirt or dust to ensure absorption.
  • It does not work through the soil and the leaves should be sprayed directly.
  • Efficiency decreases in the case of stress (thirst or high temperature).
  • Avoid spraying before rain or flooding immediately after application.
  • It is not used on cereal crops such as wheat and barley.
  • Growth stops appearing within days and the full result within 2–3 weeks.

Technical advice

  • The smaller and more actively growing the weeds are, the faster the response and the stronger the effect on the roots, ensuring clean control without recurrence.
