Fusilade Max 125 EC is a selective, post-emergence systemic herbicide containing the active ingredient fluazifop-P-butyl 12.5%. It controls annual and perennial grass (narrow-leaf) weeds in broadleaf crops such as potato, tomato, onion, legumes, carrot, alfalfa (clover) and fruit trees. It controls weeds such as Bermuda grass, foxtail, canary grass, barnyard grass, wild oats and volunteer cereals. It is absorbed through the leaves and moves inside the plant to the growing points and roots, stopping growth within days, then causing yellowing and drying until the weed dies completely from the roots – while keeping the crop safe when used correctly.
Key Features
- Controls annual and perennial grass weeds such as Bermuda grass, foxtail, canary grass, barnyard grass and wild oats, and prevents regrowth.
- Systemic herbicide that moves to the growing points and roots for complete, lasting control.
- Selective and safe on broadleaf crops when recommendations are followed.
- Most effective during active growth, with best results on young and medium-sized weeds.
- Clear, gradual effect: growth stops, leaves turn yellow, then the weed dries out completely.
- A spreader or mineral oil can be added to improve uptake, especially on large or dense weeds.

Directions for Use
- Apply after weed emergence as a direct foliar spray with full coverage of the foliage for complete uptake.
- Annual grass weeds (e.g. foxtail, canary grass): 1.5–2.5 ml per litre of water at the 2–4 leaf stage for maximum efficacy.
- Perennial grass weeds (e.g. Bermuda grass, barnyard grass): 2.5–3.5 ml per litre of water so the herbicide reaches roots and rhizomes and prevents regrowth.
- Potato: same rates, to clear grass weeds within the rows and keep the field clean.
- Tomato: controls Bermuda grass without affecting the crop and reduces competition for nutrients.
- Onion: use at early stages to remove grass weeds that affect crop growth and bulb size.
- Legumes (faba bean, soybean): controls associated grass weeds and improves growth and yield.
- Carrot: prevents weeds that affect uniform growth and root quality.
- Alfalfa/clover: controls grass weeds that compete with the crop early in growth.
- Fruit trees: directed spray around the trees without touching the foliage.
- Spray volume: 100–200 L of water per feddan depending on weed density.
Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)
- Onion: 28 days
- Potato: 56 days
- Other crops: 6–8 weeks depending on the crop
Important Notes
- Best results when weeds are actively growing.
- Weeds should be free of soil or dust to ensure uptake.
- No soil activity – spray the leaves directly.
- Efficacy drops under stress (drought or high heat).
- Avoid spraying before rain or flood irrigation immediately after application.
- Do not use on cereal crops such as wheat and barley.
- Growth stops within days; full effect within 2–3 weeks.
Orkida Tip
- The smaller and more actively growing the weeds, the faster the response and the deeper the effect down to the roots – for clean control without regrowth.
