  • Exirel 10 SE is a contact and ingestion insecticide containing cyantraniliprole 10.2% as its active ingredient, used to control a wide range of insect pests on vegetable and fruit crops. It acts on the ryanodine receptors in insect muscles, disrupting muscle function so the insect quickly stops feeding, which limits damage to leaves, shoots and fruit. It is effective against worms, thrips, aphids, whitefly, leaf miners, leafhoppers and fruit flies according to the registered crop. Best results are achieved with early application at the onset of infestation, targeting larvae and nymphs in their early stages. It also fits Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and resistance management programs when rotated with insecticides that have different modes of action.

Key Features:

  • Cyantraniliprole acts on the ryanodine receptors in insect muscles, disrupting muscle control and stopping pest activity and feeding.
  • Works by contact and ingestion, affecting insects hit directly by the spray as well as those feeding on treated plant parts.
  • Stops insect feeding soon after exposure, reducing continued damage to leaves, shoots and fruit.
  • Broad spectrum covering worms, larvae, piercing-sucking pests and leaf miners according to registered uses.
  • Highly effective on early pest stages, so it is best used at egg hatch and when young larvae or nymphs appear.
  • Belongs to IRAC Group 28, making it suitable for rotation and resistance management programs with insecticides of different modes of action.

Orkida Tip

  • For best results, start using Exirel at the onset of infestation and target the young pest stages before populations build up. Adjust the spray water volume to the size of the foliage, and make sure to cover new growth and the undersides of leaves when controlling aphids, thrips and whitefly. Good coverage and correct timing matter more than increasing the rate; with repeated infestations, rotate with an insecticide from an IRAC group other than Group 28 to keep your control program effective.
