Directions for Use
- Sow broccoli seeds in a nursery or directly in the field at a depth of 0.5–1 cm in well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Germination starts within 7–10 days depending on temperature. When seedlings reach 5–6 true leaves, transplant them to the permanent field. Space plants about 50 cm apart with 80 cm between rows for good growth and uniform heads. Broccoli needs regular watering without drought stress, keeping the soil moist.
Sowing Season
- Temperate regions: during spring and early summer.
- Colder regions: during summer.
- Choose sowing dates that avoid severe cold or high heat during head formation.
Harvest
- Harvest starts about 80–90 days after sowing, once the main head is fully formed and before the flower buds open, for the best quality and tenderness.
Orkida Tip
- For firm, high-quality broccoli heads, focus on balanced fertilization and regular watering while avoiding water stress. In hot regions, choosing the right sowing date improves head size and prevents early opening.
