Abamec 18 EC is an acaricide and insecticide containing abamectin at 1.8%, used to control mites, leaf miners and thrips on many vegetable, fruit and ornamental crops. Its translaminar action lets it penetrate leaf tissue and reach pests hiding on the underside of leaves or inside leaf mines, stopping their activity and limiting plant damage. Abamectin is one of the world's best-known active ingredients against mites and leaf miners thanks to its high efficacy and extended activity inside the leaf, helping protect foliage and improve crop quality and yield.
Key Features
- Effective against red spider mites and other plant mites that cause leaf yellowing, weak growth and lower yields.
- Controls leaf miners by reaching the larvae inside the leaves and limiting further infestation.
- Helps control thrips and reduces damage to leaves, flowers and fruit.
- Translaminar action for high efficiency against hidden pests.
- Effective against pests feeding on the underside of leaves that conventional pesticides struggle to reach.
- Acts on the pest's nervous system, causing it to stop feeding and then die gradually.

Precautions
- Spray at the first sign of infestation for best results.
- The active ingredient reaches peak efficacy 3–5 days after application.
- Cover all parts of the plant, focusing on the underside of the leaves.
- Do not use abamectin-based products in consecutive applications, to avoid resistance.
- Do not apply more than two sprays per season on apples or grapes, or three sprays on citrus, with the same active ingredient.
- Re-entry interval: workers must not enter treated areas until 12 hours after spraying.
- Keep out of reach of children and away from food and animal feed.
Orkida Tip
- Mite and leaf-miner infestations start causing crop losses before they become fully visible, so apply Abamec 18 EC at the first signs of infestation instead of waiting for it to spread through the field. Include it in an integrated control program and rotate it with products from different groups to keep it effective and protect your crop all season.
